We have no onsite car park but the nearest carpark is a convenient 2 minutes walk from the hotel on the main highstreet below Tunsgate shopping walk. You can also park on the hughstreet outside the hotel from 6pm every evening.
TUNSGATE CAR PARK
Located just 500 metres from the hotel it is the ideal place to park upon your stay and visit to The Angel Hotel or Guildford.
We will happily arrange private taxi transfers for you and your party to and from the hotel, please ask at reception for this service before or during your stay with us. We use the most reliable and cost effective local companies so you are sure to get what you pay for and be on time.
The A-Z of your Stay…
Arrival– Well, you have clearly arrived as you are reading this, so welcome!!!!
Airports– The two closest airports to the Angel Hotel are Heathrow (22 Miles) and Gatwick (34 miles)
Angel Dining Room – The Angel Dining Room is located on the first floor of the hotel, where head chef Chris Connor and his team prepares the finest ingredients for your pleasure. (Please see menus within folder)
Adaptors– If you require adaptors for your electrical items please contact reception where we will endeavour to help you. (£10.00 deposit, which is returned on handing back of adaptor)
Breakfast– Breakfast is currently available from Bill’s Restaurant from 07.30 which is located on the ground floor, through the hotel lobby.
Bill’s Restaurant– Bill’s restaurant is located on the ground floor which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, from light snacks to evening meals.
Billing– As longs we have a credit card against your booking you are able to charge items to your room. Unfortunately as Bill’s Restaurant is a separate business we are not able to room charge from here.
Bank– All the main banks are in short walking distance of here, please ask reception for specific locations. The closest Cash Machine, is located outside the hotel and to the right,next to Marks & Spencer’s.
Check-Out– Check out is 11.00am the following day, if you require a later check out time, please don’t hesitate to contact reception where for a small charge we will be able to stay within you room for longer (subject to availability). If you would like to enjoy Guildford again, for one more time before your departure we will be happy to look after your luggage whilst you do so.
Cots – If you have not already requested a cot for your stay but require one, please don’t hesitate to contact reception where we will put one up in your room for you.
Champagne and Chocolate– Fancy a little indulgence, why not treat your loved one to a bottle of fizz and some chocolate truffles. (See extras within guest folder for more information)
Cocktail Bar and Clubs– The advantage of being on the high street is that you’re in the middle of the action!!! There are numerous bars and clubs to go to, but we some of a few we recommend are:

Chargers– Whilst we do not have an charger for every occasion if you do forget your charger for either your laptop or mobile, contact reception and we will see what we can do to help!
Disabled– We try to ensure that we can accommodate any guest, and if there is anything that we can do to help or make your stay more comfortable please don’t hesitate to ask. For fire precautions please ensure our team are aware of any disabilities so that we can offer assistance in case of an emergency.
Dogs– Even though we are in the centre of the city, we do allow in some rooms for dogs to stay for a small charge. Please ask at reception for more information.
Drinks– If you would like a drink to be brought to your room, please contact reception where we will bring it to your room. On the other hand if you are looking for a quiet place to get a drink, we recommend the following.

Dinner– Being within the middle of Guildford there are many different places that you can try to eat. Obviously the ‘Angel Dining Room’ is our favourite…. but if you do want to try something different don’t hesitate to ask at reception where we can point you in the right direction!
Extras– If there is anything we can do to make your stay more enjoyable or relaxing please don’t hesitate to ask and we will endeavour to help. For item’s that you might of forgot or for something special, please look at the extra items in the information folder.
Emergency– We do hope during your stay here at the Angel Hotel that you never need any emergency numbers. The front desk is always manned and will help you in as many things as possible. Please ensure you press 9 from your phone followed by the relevant numbers-

Fire– Here at the Angel Hotel we take fire safety very seriously. If during your stay you hear the fire alarm please vacate the building via the nearest exit. We test the fire alarm every Monday at around 11.00am, which will is silenced after approximately 15 seconds.
Flowers– We have a fantastic supplier of flowers for the hotel called the ‘The Chelsea Flower Shop’ . If you would like flowers organising please call reception or 0800 148 8058.
Golf– There are many golf courses within a very short drive of the hotel. We specifically recommend the Guildford Golf Course.
Ghosts– There are rumoured to be many ghosts here within the hotel, from the lonely nun to the wounded solider! But despair not, they have not been seen for some time….
Have a good Time!!!- If you are away for either business or leisure have a good time!!! We are here to make your stay as enjoyable or relaxed as possible, so please don’t hesitate to ask.
Heating– Due to the age of the building and some of the heating element’s the heating at times can be quirky! If at any point during your stay you would like help with the heating please just ask at reception, or if you require more items such as blankets or duvets…
High Street– As you are more than aware we are right in the middle of Guildford on the High Street. This does mean there’s an abundance of shops, restaurants and bars for you to explore and enjoy. It does mean though, unfortunately, that we have no parking, (we can advise where to park). We have also spoken to the shops within the high street about their deliveries so that they cause too much disturbance, although there are occasions where this cannot be helped.
Information– Hopefully everything that you need to aid you with your stay is here within the guest information folder!
Iron & Ironing Board – If you require an iron or ironing board please call reception and we will bring one to the room for you.
Luggage– We will be more than happy to help with you luggage so if you require help on either checking in or out of the hotel please just ask. We are also happy to look after your luggage at the end of your stay so you can go and enjoy Guildford for that last bargain!!
Lift– The lift is located on the first floor just past the Angel Dining Rooms and can take you up to the second and third floor. If you require disable access please speak to the reception team where we can organise you using the lift from the ground floor.
Laundry– Although we don’t officially offer a laundry service we will help whenever we can with guest needs. Please ask at reception for more information.
Money– There are numerous banks and currency exchange’s here within Guildford. The closest currency exchange would be American Express, which is out of the hotel and to the right and on the other side of the street.
Newspaper– If you would like a paper the following morning; just ask at reception and we will organise this.
Night Porter– Our reception desk is manned 24/7 and if you need assistance or require anything during the evening just call reception where we will be happy to help.
Optional Extras– If you look towards the back of the Room Information folder you will see numerous optional extras that you can purchase, from upgrading your room to a bottle of fizz!!
Packages– We here at the Angel Hotel do different packages to suit the every traveller and for most budgets. If you would like any more information ask at the front desk where we can go through some options for your next visit. This could anything from transport to and from the airport and dinner within the Angel Dining Room each evening
Quiet– We do try to ensure that every guest has an undisturbed stay as possible. We are though within the centre of this very busy town and therefore there can be some disturbances. We do work with our neighbours, so that they keep this to a minimum, so that you have as undisturbed stay as possible.
Room Service (Tray charge of £5.00 per room)– Our Angel Dining Room, room service drinks menu is within the Guest information folders and if you would like any delivered to the room please just contact reception.
Radio– If you would like to listen to the radio then on all of our Freeview TV’s within the bedrooms there is the option to play radio through it. Please just select radio from the drop down menu.
Safe– There is a safe within all of the rooms that you can store your personal belongings in. If you would like to store other items within the Hotel Safe, please speak to reception and speak to the Duty Manager where we can see what we can do to help.
Telephone– All of the rooms are fitted with a telephone that you can either contact reception (0) or to make an external call press (9). All external domestic and international calls will be charge to the room. For more information please ask at reception.
Telephone Adaptors– If you have left your mobile phone charger at home, don’t panic!!! We have a small range of modern mobile chargers where we might be able to assist you. Again, please ask at reception for more information.
Toiletries– All of our rooms come supplied with complimentary toiletries. We do stock behind reception a selection of other toiletries such as dental kits, shaving kits in case you have left yours at home! Please see further within the Room Information folder for the types of products we offer.
Taxis– If you require a taxi during your stay speak to the front desk where we have a dedicated taxi team whom are able to take you to your destination. You can either request at the desk that you put the taxi on to your room charge or pay the driver directly. Just let us know so we can organise this for you.
Television: All of the rooms are equipped with TV’s and Freeview and digital channels. If you do require any assistance with the TV please don’t hesitate to contact us at reception for more information.
Umbrella– As the British weather is very reliable you will never need one of these… but if it is one of those rare days where it is raining,
Wake Up Call– If you require a wakeup call in the morning please don’t hesitate to ask, just inform the reception or night porter team and we will wake you up at the requested time..
