Shopping- Guildford High Street
Housing some of the best brands in the country, Guildford has is a great place to both shop. It boasts multiple well known brands, Hugo Boss, Ted Baker, Monsoon, Chanel to name but a few. Dining- Guildford High Street
The hotel is actually on the high Street and therefore has at least 20 restaurants to choose from within 2 minutes walk. We can recommend some fantastic eateries, from Loch Fine fish restaurant, Cote for traditional French, the Thai Terrace an award winning oriental…. Infact there are very few flavours that are not walkable to. And of course, the real jewel being that neither of you have to drive they are all so close! |

Nightclubs
Where do I start! Guildford has at least 5 nightclubs within walking distance of The Angel. The Casino Nightclub is Surrey’s premier nightclub with 3 bars, multiple different types of music and is open until very late with capacity for 1000+ people.

Guildford boat house
Fancy taking a trip down the stunning River Wey in a traditional English rowing boat- simple, 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Honestly, there is nothing more beautifull than taking a punt on the River Wey and for £10 per hour, it is an exceptional way to wile away the afternoon. Guildford Castle
A minutes walk from The Angel can be found Guildford Castle which started out as a Norman motte and bailey castle, built soon after 1066. It is beautifully planted with stunning borders in the summer and is a lovely place to take a picnic. Yvonne Arnaud Theatre
Again, just 5 minutes walk from the Angel, this nationally renowned theatre is under the Directorship of James Barber. It regularly creates shows in Guildford and tours nationally, with many shows transferring to the West End. You will always be able to book a fantastic nights entertainment, just a short walk from the hotel.

A stunning place to visit in the summer, Loseley park is the quientessential English Stately home. Very little has changed since it’s inception in the same year that Henry VI came to take the throne. The Venetian architect Giacomo Leoni built Clandon Park in the Early 1730's

Watts Gallery in Compton first opened to the public on 1 April 1904. Its aim was to be a Gallery devoted to the art of George Frederic Watts. Having just benefitted from a multi million pound refurbishment, it is a fantastic place to enjoy an afternoon’s entertainment. |
